Melanie’s height has always been over the 100 percentile for her age and about 75% for her weight. She continues to grow and this year at her 4 year old check up, she was 43 pounds and 43 inches tall. I find that interesting that each inch of her weighs 1 pound.
Her eye sight was checked and she can see very well. Her hearing needs to be tested again. Her left ear tube has fallen out but it is not infected or red, so that is good. The doctor wasn’t sure if her hearing was not good in that ear or if she was just not understanding the whole point to your ear when her hear a beep, thing. I think we will be seeing the audiologist just to make sure.
Yesterday was her last day of preschool, today the 1st day of summer vacation! Her end of the year report card went as follows:
-making good progress with social and emotional skills
-making good progress with work habits
-making good progress with listening skills
-making good progress with speaking skills
-making good progress with self-reliance skills
-making good progress with fine motor skills, manipulating buttons and snaps still need some work.
-making good progress with gross motor skills
-making good progress with music skills
-making good progress with art skills
-making good progress with reading and math readiness!
I just love the fact that her report card has colorful pictures of kids acting out each of these areas! (I should take a picture of it)
Her teacher sent home her box of crayons! I might just have to tuck these away for safe keeping :-). They also sent home artwork that she completed all throughout the year, all organized in a binder; photos of Melanie during the year and the sweetest collection of finger-painted hands and feet animals with scriptures next to them you have ever seen!
I just think the world of her preschool! We are so blessed to be able to send her there and have our values respected and encouraged! I am looking forward to next year!
