The Magic of Disney

We just returned from a weekend at Disneyland.  This trip was filled with magical moments.  First off, I am thankful that my husband works in an industry that would hold a convention in a place so well suited for children and families and that his company would allow him to attend, thus free hotel rooms for two nights!  I the send out thanks to one of his suppliers who gave us 2 free admission tickets so we could attend and only have to purchase 1 child ticket, which was still $91.00.  We are trying so hard to save money after my surgery, that a vacation such as this was not in our cards.  So, I am thankful!  The weather was overcast, with a little drizzle – absolutely perfect in my mind, jeans and sweatshirts all day long – perfect amusement park weather for someone who hates being hot and sunburns easily!

We arrived at the park, through the hotel entrance and immediately got our fast pass tickets for the World of Color lightshow at 9pm!  I heard that they go fast, so I am thankful.  We then made our way around California adventure, riding all the kiddy rides with hardly any wait, some we even got to stay on and ride twice.  We let Melanie pick out a new toy, she chose Jesse from Toy Story and got our face painted.  The best ride was the Ferris wheel, and we chose the rocking gondola over the stationary.  You should have seen the faces on Melanie and Jason and myself when the gondola starting sliding and rocking back and forth as the we got higher and higher in the sky.  It was priceless.  We had to keep laughing so to avoid the fear that was rising up in us.IMG_5409  IMG_5423 IMG_5432 IMG_5435 IMG_5437

After spending time in California Adventure, we then grabbed some lunch and headed to Disneyland.  We spent some time meeting characters on Main Street, riding the Disney Railroad and waiting for the Street Party Parade.  It always amazes me how Disney pays attention to every detail.  During the parade, Jesse and Woody stopped right in front of us.  Melanie and Jesse were immediate friends and Melanie got to dance in the street with Jesse and then as they were getting ready to leave, Melanie was showing Jesse her doll and Jesse came over and showed Melanie how to give her Jesse doll a proper hug,  She then kissed her and hugged her back.  It was so sweet, I started to cry.  It was a moment, Melanie nor I will ever forget!

We then headed up to visit the princesses and made it just in time for the coronation ceremony.  They let all the little girls and boys come up in front of the stage to teach them how to properly dance and greet royalty!  Melanie met Tiana, Cinderella, Jasmine, Belle, Snow White and Aurora!  WOWZA!  She was on Cloud 9.

The World of Color show was amazing!  I am so glad that Melanie was awake for it.  We had to get our seats an hour before it started and so sitting on the ground Jason and I held her while she took a little nap.  She was such a trooper, keeping up with us all day long with NO stroller!  She is such a joy!

After the show, we headed back to the hotel and we ran into an old co-worker of mine, Kristen and Frank Orosco.  She was the first person to introduce me to produce sales at Underwood Ranches! Small world!

This morning, we slept in and had breakfast at Goofy’s Kitchen! It is always a special treat and then we weren’t in the car 5 minutes and Melanie was asleep and slept all the way home!

This was one of those vacations for the memory books!

You got those magical photos that you had better put in a photo album or something somewhere, because they'll make great cards and things for years to come. :-)

Thanks Kessie! I plan on scrapbooking those and backing them up on my external hard-drive too. If I am up to it, I may even let Melanie make her own mini-scrapbook of the event.
