Pumpkin Picking with Dear Friends

What a wonderful fall afternoon on the central coast. It has been so long since we have seen my dear friend, Joanie and her beautiful children, Sedona and Marissa. The girls played wonderfully and enjoyed pushing the wheel barrow and picking pumpkins. They were even more than willing to share their smiling faces for the camera! Joanie and Chris have a wonderful bungalow with a great play area for the kids. Melanie loved all the new and different toys. Feeding the goats was another highlight and Sedona even petted a dog (her Mommy tells me she is afraid)! Melanie is definitely an animal lover. It didn't take her long to figure out that goats will eat anything - even dead leaves from the Sycamore trees. It is amazing what confidence can be built with a little encouragement from peers.

As for the apples at Gopher Glenn, the Nittny is still my favorite - crunchy, slightly tart with a hint of nutmeg. Heaven Scent is pure sweet pleasure and Jason still loves the Jonadel. As always, I love the flavors of fall!!
