Mr. Bear Gets Lost

We were on our way home from Toys ‘R Us last night (Melanie just may get a swing set for her birthday!) and Melanie chimes in from the backseat “Mr. Bear, my Mr. Bear, where is he, he’s at the store!!”  It was quite the worried little voice!  So, instantly Jason turns the car around, the clock reads 8:59 pm – they close at 9pm.  So, I start calling them…no answer…I dial another number…still no answer…I try again….and a woman answers!  I tell her we were just there and that our daughter left her bear in the store and we are on our way back to the store.  She says, “We’re closed!”  My hearts sinks, then she says – “meet me at the exit door and I will let you in and what does it look like so I can have my staff start looking for it”  Wow, am I relieved!  So, I tell her it is a brown fuzzy bear from Build-a-Bear Workshop and we think we left it near the car seats.  Jason says “He has patches on him too!”  Melanie is really getting worried, you can see it and hear it.  By now I am praying that we find that little bear!  How could I explain it to her if we didn’t find him?  So, we pull into the parking lot and as Jason goes by the front of the store, Melanie shouts, “She found him. She found Mr. Bear!”  Melanie noticed her before we did!  And yes, a lovely woman came walking out of Toys ‘R Us with Mr. Bear!  Whew, that was a close one!  Melanie was still hugging him this morning and told RaRa all about how Mr. Bear got lost!  And from now on – Mr. Bear can’t go shopping with us, he has to stay in the car and keep Melanie’s carseat warm!
