May Day!

May 1st!  May Day!!  I have very fond memories of May Day.  Growing up in the small rural mid-western town of Soldier, we celebrated May Day by leaving little decorated baskets or Styrofoam cups of home-made goodies on the door steps of our friends and family.  The only condition was that you couldn’t get caught and couldn’t tell!  It was fun.  I have no recollection of May Poles or dancing, but those little surprise goodies are vivid in my mind!  I will have to ask Mom if they still do that.  I wonder if I have time to surprise some of my friends and start a new tradition!
