I can not express enough how grateful I am for this man and his desire to bless our daughter with some extra special love and attention. Tonight, Jason and Melanie are going on an extra special date, to a Father-Daughter Dance. This is their second one and Melanie has been bouncing off the walls with excitement and anticipation for this evening for a couple months.
She picked out her dress a few months back and was giddy with ants in her pants all day long today. She loves to dance and is so looking forward to meeting up with her friends tonight. I put curlers in her hair and Daddy even let her wear just a touch of Mommy’s blush for the special night. He was more reluctant than I to grant her request of wearing make-up, but it made her day! I don’t even think you could really tell.
As Daddy was putting his suit coat on, Melanie turned to me and was smiling ear to ear and said “Look Mommy, Daddy is so handsome!” I do agree! Then she turned back to me again and said, “I just love it when Daddy calls me his princess!” Oh, be still my heart! I think I am starting to figure out Melanie’s main love language, it just might be words of affirmation!
I hope there are lots of giggles, fun, and tender Daddy Daughter moments tonight! I would love to be a fly on the wall.

That is so cute! I loved hearing about it last year. So sweet your husband does that, and that she gets so excited! :)
Brenda, what a sweet story! It was the first blog post I've read today, and it was a beautiful way to start the day. I miss my wonderful father so much, and reading about your daughter and husband reminded me of when I was a little girl who adored her daddy!
