All good vacations must come to and end. Melanie says they don’t have to end, but then again she has no idea about bills, jobs, businesses, mortgages, you know, adult responsibilities. She thinks we could just move to the beach and stay on vacation forever. I keep trying to tell her, that even if we lived at the beach, she would still have to go to school and Daddy and I would still have to go to work. We wouldn’t be able to lay around all day and build sandcastles. Oh, we can dream, though can’t we!?
I just loved seeing these two come walking up the beach towards me! They had been out on a walk for a couple hours. They had been exploring.
Melanie and I went exploring next and we found all kinds of things, a crabs skeleton, it was pretty big too, empty muscle shells, seashells, and we several dolphins right near the shore.
I just love this girl of mine.
We had a picnic. Seagulls tried to be sneaky and eat the pretzels out of our basket, but Melanie chased them off. I thought they might carry her off.
I enjoyed watching Melanie dance and jump in the waves, while admiring the beautiful sky and giving thanks to God for granting me the opportunity to be her mother!
I have a video of Melanie playing in the water. I really need to figure out how to post that here, but that is another project for another day.
I need to head to bed, today I was back to work and tomorrow I am headed to Salinas to meet with a prospective new grower.
Good Night!
