Business as Usual

We are back to business as usual around our house.  I finally got the Christmas decorations put away this past weekend.  We finally purchased Melanie a bedroom set, so that occupied a big chunk of time weekend before last.  We also finally purchased our first bedroom set.  We have been married for almost 10 years and have been using furniture that was given to us and none of it matches.  I am excited for it to come in a few weeks!   I will post some photos when I get the rooms all put together.

Melanie got her report card yesterday, and she is doing very well.  It feels good to have her right on track.  They are beginning to read and she now has a packet of homework to complete each week.  Oh, how I remember those phonics sheets.  Brings me back.  I really hope she learns to be a good reader.  One thing I notice about her, is she likes to hurry through her work and is not neat.  So, we will be working on that some more.  She has made some improvement since October, but she often forgets that it isn’t a race.  Although, throughput is important, one still has to do a nice and neat job.

Work is going well.  We are selling cauliflower and broccoli out of Lamont and quality has been ok despite cold weather.  We also signed a new grower a few weeks ago and he will give us broccoli to offer our customers all year long!  That is really awesome for us.  The dessert has been warm and so supplies are really good, too good in some instances so the markets are depressed but hopefully that will turn around soon.

We had our first big rain storm in over 2 months.  Oh how we need it.  We are excited because the mountains finally received some snowfall and now it looks as though our February snow trip with our friends and our kids is going to actually happen!  All we need if for it to stay cold and not melt.

So, as you can tell we are back in the grind and back to business as usual.
